Composition in science

No one can hear you scream in space. Or at least not until recently. In the last several years scientists have been expanding their knowledge of space using sound and music. From radio waves to sonification, even your TV can teach us something about the universe.

With this new found knowledge, composers and sound artists are using this to create unique soundworlds and develop our musicial language.

Using examples from current research, pianists will be set a compositional challenge to create their own music inspired by space.
